Our client is an Australian Weighing Company who is seeking to employ an experienced service technician at their Rockhampton Branch. The bulk of their work is industrial with weighbridges being at the forefront of this. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified scale technician to work for a well-established firm in Queensland.

The company operate in a team environment with no division across 4 branches when it comes to team work and assistance. Abilities are recognised and utilised and development is encouraged, all within a friendly inclusive workplace.

The business supply, service and repair a vast range of weighing and inspection equipment across various industries. They have a dedicated, knowledgeable Service Team that benefits from product and process training.

Previous experience in this field is essential and the NMI Statement of Attainment for 6.1 > 6.3 and 6.4 will need to be completed with urgency on arrival in Australia. Any technician in New Zealand verifying trade scales will easily complete these courses.

The position is based at the Rockhampton Branch which services the region from Mackay down to Bundaberg and all the way out west, so travel is a big part of this role. While it isn't a weekly occurrence, applicants have to be prepared to be away at least 1 to 2 nights a week, sometimes but not often up to 4 nights away might be required. Overnight allowances are paid for each night away.

Overtime will also be an ongoing requirement, this is paid at standard overtime rates. Above award wages are offered to the right candidate with 4 weeks paid annual leave, sick leave & 9.5% superannuation employer contributions each week on top of your gross weekly wages.

A senior technician within this organisation when we factor in overtime can expect $100k to $120k AU per annum + the 9% superannuation loading on top of the gross. Company car, phone & laptop are a standard for their technicians.

Key Duties:

  • Trade Verification of weighing equipment to ensure compliance with the National Instrument Testing Procedures for non-automatic weighing instruments.
  • Diagnostics and repair of weighing and inspection equipment.
  • Service, testing and calibration of weighing and inspection equipment.
  • Installation and commissioning of weighing and inspection equipment.
  • Eccentricity testing of weighing equipment..
  • Repeatability testing of weighing and inspection equipment.
  • Supply complete and accurate service records through our paperless system.
  • Be available for overnight trips, at times with minimal notice.
  • Be available for overtime, at times with minimal notice.
  • The position involves lifting of 20kg weights.
  • Manual Drivers Licence required.
  • Semi-trailer Licence desirable.
  • Forklift Licence will need to be acquired.
